inform | Digital Citizenship series part 7

As children and teens start to learn who they are as individuals, they often learn from mistakes or behaviours that can be harmless and part of growing up. However when these mistakes are public online they can harm a persons future reputation.  Employers, universities, and other organizations will now look to social media as a way to find out more about potential employees/students.  Understanding your digital reputation is a very important part of being a good digital citizen.  After watching this week’s video please have a conversation with your child/ren about what they are posting on social media.  In 10 or 15 years would what they are posting be something that they would want their future employers or post secondary admissions personal want to see?
